DESTINATION HISTORY

A wrong destination should not mean a new campaign.

Your short link can outlive a website update, a campaign change or an accidental edit. Review saved destinations and restore the one you need, while keeping the address people already have.

Same short link. A previous destination, recovered.
01

Fix an edit without reprinting

Open a saved short link, choose History and review a previous default destination. Restore it while keeping the same short address and its managed QR. Printed posters, packaging and shared messages can keep using that address.

02

Keep your current safeguards

Restore changes only the default destination. Current password protection, editing permissions, device and geographic rules, availability dates, request counts and short-code access remain in force. Your team reviews the current and proposed destinations before confirming.

03

Avoid overwriting a teammate’s change

History identifies workspace edits and developer API changes. If another editor changes the destination while you are reviewing a version, refresh history before restoring. A restore itself becomes a new history entry.

04

A useful history, with clear bounds

Review up to 20 saved destinations from the past 90 days. Existing links start with a baseline when history is enabled; earlier edits cannot be reconstructed. Encrypted destination contents and decryption keys are never copied into history. History does not add a network lookup or history query to public redirects.

Before you start

Is destination history included with free links?

Yes. Destination history and restore are included for ordinary short links, including free codes with four or more characters. No separate history subscription is required.

Does restoring also restore a password or old analytics?

No. It changes only the default destination and keeps current security settings and recorded activity. Device, geographic and expiry rules can still select another destination.

Who can view or restore destinations?

Current editors who are allowed to edit the specific link, plus workspace owners and admins. Viewers and editors excluded by a restricted link cannot access its history.

Can history recover an encrypted destination?

No. Encrypted content and its key are not recorded. Keep the original complete browser-only link when you create it.
